On September 16, 2017, The names of more than 150 First Responders who died from their 9/11 illnesses were added to the Memorial Wall at the 911 Responders Remembered Park in Nesconset, Suffolk County, NY. The Ceremony included the reading of the names that were added to the Memorial Wall, The naming of the Memorial Bell, and the changing of the American flag that flown over Congress. it was a somber ceremony, that was well attended by memmbers of the 9/11 Family and First Responders. Along with members of the Military, and the Nassau County Fire Department Pipe and Drums band, and local Fire and Police Departments. John Feal was the MC. County Executive Steve Bellone and Suffolk County treasurer John Kennedy spoke at the Ceremony. This is perhaps the only Memorial that Honors First Responders that have died from 9/11 illnesses. This is a beautiful, clean and a perfect place to reflect on the events of 9/11/01 and the aftermath. I hope you get to visit this "one of a kind" Memorial.
