This is what is left of a 2.5 story 20x40 wood frame church. The church was fully involved and collapsed upon the arrival of the first due units. Most of the windows on the exposure 2 side of a 5 story Brick Apartment house were open. The fire quickly spread into the apartment house. A fourth alarm was needed.

This is the view from exposure one.

Two tower ladders operated from the front of the fire building.

A firefighter suffering from a shoulder injury is being treated by EMS.

In this photo you can see the outline of the church against the apartment house.

A relief engine company arrives at the scene.

Tower Ladder 44 has this appropriate sign on the boom of their rig.
