Bronx 4th Alarm Box 3381. Fire was in a one story 100 x 75 Taxpayer. Fire started in 71 Kingsbridge Road and spread to adjoining stores. The fire quickly extended into the cockloft. Members were ordered off the roof as the fire started to burn through. An additional Tower ladder was special called after the 2nd alarm was transmitted followed by the 3rd alarm. The fire was through the roof and threatened the exposures, including a large apartment house in the rear of the fire building. A 4th Alarm was transmitted and 4 tower ladders were in operation.

I used a fisheye lens extension to gain this perpestive of the overall scene.

Tower Ladder 33 is obscured by the smoke.

Tower Ladder 33 appears to be floating in midair. The smoke hid the boom.

The heavy smoke conditon lasted for a few hours as units brought the blaze under control. apartments in the Tower building.

2 handlines are operating from the roof of the apartment house in the rear as members watch the progress being made.

The Command Post was set up in front of the fire building.

Numerous streams operated into the front of the stores.
