2-12-09, QUEENS BOX 8582, Located at 91-18 96th Street in the Woodhaven section of Queens. Heavy wind conditions hampered firefighters. The fire started in a 2 story attached wood frame dwelling 20X40. The fire quickly spread into the exposures via the common cockloft. In all a dozen dwellings were heavily damaged or destroyed. 5 Tower Ladders and numerous handlines were in operation.

The strong winds helped the fire spread into the exposures!

The 40 to 60 MPH winds moved the fire from one building to the next taking all the buildings up to the end of the block!
